Compete for Light and Land

The scattered trees of an unmanaged woodland, stand tall, towering above the forest floor, creating a chaotic environment.

If not managed properly, the trees block the sunlight, stunting the growth of the understory.

The height of the trees and the overgrown foliage is what stopped me in my tracks to shoot this scene. My aim of photographing this scene was to provide the viewer with a sense of scale and an accurate depiction of the disarray and disruption.
